The North Lake Tahoe Lifestyle

Saying the North Shore of Lake Tahoe is “a skier’s paradise” is truly only part of the story.  “A virtual year-round paradise” would better describe what has become one of the world’s most desirable destinations. 

Just a short drive from the Tahoe Reno International Airport, summer brings white sand beaches with 193 square miles of the deepest, clearest blue waters that rival that of the Caribbean.  The attraction doesn’t end there.  Lake Tahoe’s winters often bring weather in the 40’s and 50’s, plenty of sunshine and 15 ski areas—some of which are world class.  Lake Tahoe has Squaw Valley, Heavenly, Alpine Meadows, Northstar and Mt. Rose.  Could it get any better?

Weather In Lake Tahoe

Planning any outdoor activities is usually never a problem since there is 93% probability the sun will be shining.

Average daily high temperatures in December, January and February are 40, 37, and 39 degrees respectively. Summer is easily as dry and sunny as anywhere in the arid desert. Daytime highs rarely exceed 80 degrees.

Ease of Access

The Reno/Tahoe International Airport is served by over 240 flights daily and can also accommodate private jets and is a mere 35-mile scenic drive from Lake Tahoe. Private jets may also access Truckee Airport, which is an easy 20-minute drive from Lake Tahoe--door to hangar.
